Wisdom script is a thick marketing script that many like for marketing materials. It is thin and delicate, while remaining easily readable and elegant. Windsong is a fancy script font that almost looks hand written.

Tangerine is a well balanced script font with an old-world parchment or calligraphic feel. Scriptina is a flowing script font that would look great on wedding invitations and formal materials. It has a handwriting quality about it that makes it great for a personal feel in design work. Reklame is a script font that looks like someone wrote it with a felt pen. You’ll find it all over the web, especially in retro designs.

Pacifico is another script font that is considered to be a fan favorite among designers. Lobster has been a fan favorite for years. Learning curve is a super-thin script font that looks like someone wrote it with a fine point ink pen. Italiano is properly names, because it looks like a font you’d find on the menu of an Italian restaurant, like Olive Garden. I like the consistent strokes with this one. Lavanderia is a high quality script font with a unique look. The varying thick and thin strokes makes this font flow well, almost like calligraphy. Great Vibes is among my favorites for script fonts. I like the curls on the tops of the ascenders, which adds a nice touch. Freebooterįreebooter has nice, rounded strokes that stand out. When you want to make a strong personal connection, this is a good choice. EuphoriaĮuphoria is a good script font for personalized designs. It flows well from letter to letter, and only has a few frills and ornamental strokes. Alex BrushĪlex brush has become fairly popular lately. It looks like a mix between a handwriting and script font, and is fairly easy to read. Ventography is smooth, balanced and has a strong presence. I love the slant and the flow of this free script font. Remachine is free for personal use, but it’s a high quality script font, so it’s worth paying for if you’re going to use it in a real project. Prime is a thick script font with thick and thin strokes, giving the font variation where needed. Since I use it for commercial purposes, I bought a license. Mission Script is by the Lost Type Co and is one of my favorite free script fonts. Leckeri is a big, thick script font, meant to look imperfect and more natural. A lot of designers have created custom free script fonts over the last few years. Not only are script fonts elegant, they add a personal touch to any design. Mission Script was selected as one of Typographica’s Typefaces of 2012.When you’re looking for an elegant touch for any design, script font is always a good choice. Both of those features are automatically executed with OpenType, and work in Adobe CS applications. Another feature is the connecting stroked are left off of letters like b,o, and p when they fall at the end of the word. Mission Script offers a few ligatures to provide a little bounce and vibrancy when setting words with doubled up letters. You should be using it as accent, not for long paragraphs, and not at small sizes. After all, Mission Script is for display typography. The font comes with a modestly useful amount of alternates for adding variety of shape to any line of text. Edmondson, independent type designer and freelance lettering artist, based in San Francisco, California in 2012. The ample lowercase allows this script to be read at smaller display sizes and greater distances than others in this genre. Mission Script is tall in x-height, and a very slight in tilt.
